Parity in the east?

Is it me, or does it seem that there is more parity in the east than the west? Only Washington and Philly are out of the playoffs in the east, while the only team looking in from the West is Colorado. Now we can say the competition from the east is stronger, therefore more parity. It's likecollegebasketball, you'll beat each other in league play,,,,,

Parity in the east?nba draft order

The East has so many good teams they have set the bar higher. The East has 11 teams over 80 points while the west has 9. The East is still stronger overall.

Parity in the east?nba draft history ,nba teams

yes i agree with you
I think everyone learned how to improve this year with a few exceptions. imagine what next year is going to look like when everyone has it really figured out.

The race in the East is absolutely crazy. We are not going to know until April 8th. Happy Easter to the nHL.
Parity only proves that the teams are close to each other in skill level. So some of the time the Sabres will beat the Penguins... and sometimes the Penguins will beat the Sabres, it tends to keep the teams relativly close in points.

The west only has 2 or 3 good teams which dominate all the weaker teams in the conference, giving the strong teams much higher totals and the weak teams much lower.
parity ...i don't know

personally i think the eastern conference teams are much weaker than the western conference

florida, boston. toronto, washington. philedelphia, montreal, tampa bay, rangers, islanders aren't near colorado or minnesota

pittsburgh couldn't win a seven game series against the wild. colorado , they would

how about detriot?? the only team in the east that would beat detriot in a seven game series .. probably is the devils ... don't say the sabres because the wings beat their butts
I'm not sure the competition in the East is really that great. I think the reason the teams are closer is because they all find ways to lose hockey games so they therefore are finding themselves in a race to the bottom.
THIS IS CRAZY, I'M A HUGE HABS FAN AND ITS GETTING DOWN TO THE WIRE THE THING IS IS WE ARE VERY HOT RIGHT NOW BUT THE TEAMS THAT WERE CHASING LIKE THE RANGERS AND CANES WE WIN THEY WIN. SO ITS HARD TO GAIN ANY GROUND ON THIS TEAMS. TB DOESN'T LOOK TO GREAT SOMETIMES AND WERE ALL CREEPING UP ON THEM SO ITS GOING RIGHT DOWN TILL THE FINAL GAME OF THE REGULAR SEASON. and the Habs still have two games vs the Rangers, 1 vs OTT, 1 vs BOS, 1 vs BUF, 1 vs TOR. and we play very good hockey vs all this teams all year so its down to the wire.

GO HABS GO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!1
It is a two tiered parity. There are 4 teams which could fight it out for the conference top spot and 6 teams that are fighting it out for the bottom 3 spots in the playoff picture. Atlanta by all rights is a team that in any other division would be fighting to make one of the last spots.

The east has 2 horrible teams and one that has faded (Boston).

The west, imo, weaker. The bottom 6 teams are mediocre and the top teams are feasting on home cooking. I can't see any team in the west beating the ultimate winner out of the east in the playoffs. But that is why they play the games.
The west has way better teams, look at the points for the top 7 teams in the west. They are almost all better than only 2 teams in the east. The east has 6 mediocre teams fighting for a spot where the west has teams that can secure a spot early.
Definitely parity in the East.

The three best records in the East belog to the Sabres (allow too many goals, too many injuries), the Devils (NEVER score goals, and Gionta is hurt), and the Senators (always choke in the playoffs).

Eveyone else in the playoffs is pretty decent, and even one or two decent teams will miss the playoffs. Teams on the bubble can't gain any ground because they are winning every game now that the money is on the line. If I'm Buffalo or NJ, I'm sitting there thinking I have to go out and beat one of these teams in a seven game series?

Folks, the East playoffs are a crapshoot.
