Is NCAA vs. CIS hockey possible?

Why are there cross-bordercollegebasketball exhibition games and tournaments, but that never seems to happen with hockey?

Is it because the Canadian schools mostly have players the NCAA regards as former pros?

My local university Wilfrid Laurier played 2 exhibition games this year against Western Michigan and Michigan State so I am sure there are many other NCAA vs. CIS games played. I only checked one school website to find this. When the schedule for your local school comes out in early September check on line to see and you may be surprised to find out it happens near you as well.

I know that the U of Toronto used to play exhibition games against NCAA schools (Wisconsin, UND) but that was in the 90's. I haven't seen them in a while. You could very well be right. And if I remember correctly Canadian colleges don't offer scholarships for the first year which is why many kids come to the US.

When I went to RPI lo these many years ago, we played games early in the season against Canadian universities and the competition wasn't there.

In a typical game, RPI would get double figures. The Canadians were physically overmatched, too. I remember seeing at least one guy get carted off to the hospital. After a few of those, they discontinued the games with the Canadians.
I doubt it. There just isn't any money to promote CIS sports when the NCAA will just run you over. The first guy said that U of T used to play against some NCAA teams in exhibition games, and I think that's a good idea. They should bring that back and market it for a bit just to see where things are now.
well RMC here in Kingston, Ontario plays Army every year 1 game so they do play. most Canadian players that play in the NCAA are there for the education but most of the players that will make the NHL play in the CHL Canadian Hockey League, OHL, WHL, QMJHL. RMC is the Royal Military College.

gebobs%26gt;%26gt;%26gt;%26gt;your full of it. most great young Canadians go to the CHL and if they get a scholarship in the U.S they will go but no top hockey players in Canada will go play for a University in Canada they will either go play in the CHL. which the CHL develops the most NHL players in any other League period. most Canadian players playing in the Canadian University are just playing for fun and aren't top athletes.
